Breakfast at Tiffany’s Pastry

I’ve watched Breakfast at Tiffany's a million times. It’s one of my favorite movies for so many reasons: Audrey Hepburn, New York City, the orange cat, my love of jewelry, Tiffany’s iconic turquoise packaging, and Holly Golightly’s turquoise sleep mask — because I can’t sleep without one either.

Years ago, I even dressed as Holly Golightly for Halloween, and a few years later I had high tea at the Tiffany’s café in New York City.

The movie has almost nothing to do with baking, aside from the croissant-like pastry Holly eats for breakfast in front of the Tiffany’s window on Fifth Avenue. That scene became iconic and, like so many others, I visited the same window several times while I was living in New York. Somehow, that single moment permanently linked the film to one of my favorite pastries in my mind.

And that’s how this design was born.
